Stolen Bases

Motivation

This lesson introduces students to the concept of normality tests (Shapiro-Wilks and Kolmogorov-Smirnov) and summation of normal distributions to investigate stolen base success rates. Featuring Jacob Hurtubise, a West Point’s all-time leader in stolen bases and baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds’ Double-A affiliate, the Chattanooga Lookouts.
